Scott Lang: Senior Men/U16 Head Coach and Director of Rugby

Scotty is the Senior Men?s, and U16 Boys coach. He also works with the Streetsville Secondary School Rugby Program, the Rugby Ontario U19 program, and has worked locally with the Canada U18 program. Scotty is new to the area as of Aug '21 but lived, worked, and coached just outside Washington DC with the nationally ranked Fort Hunt Warriors Boys High School Club, the West Potomac Mens RFC (Division 2), and the DC Furies Women's Club (Division 1).

 

Bronwyn McCrone: Senior Women Head Coach

Bronwyn started her rugby career in high school playing for the Streetsville Tigers and Mississauga Blues. She was apart of the first ever women's UK rugby tour with the Mississauga Blues in 2010. Bronwyn captained her high school team in her 2011/2012 seasons. In 2012 she made the University of Guelph Women's rugby team, starting and scoring in her debut rookie game. During her time at Guelph she and her team won 3 OUA Golds, 2 OUA Silvers, 2 CIS Silvers and in 2015 she was named an OUA Allstar. During her time in Guelph she played for the Guelph Redcoats until returning to the Mississauga Blues post graduation. 

 

Lauren Congdon: Senior Women Assistant Coach/U18 Girls Head Coach



 

Cam Louie: U18 Boys Head Coach

From 2008-2010 and 2011, Cam won gold at ROPSSAA as well as silver in 2011 with Streetsville Secondary . His team placed first at OFSAA in 2012. Cam was nominated captain and MVP his senior year at Streetsville Secondary School. He played on the Brock men?s Rugby team in 2013 and from 2015-2017. Cam won bronze at OUA with the Brock team in 2014. Cam has been a part of the Mississauga Blues Rugby club since 2008 and has been using his expert rugby knowledge to coach the U18 and U16 boys.

 

Jim Dinner: U16 Girls Head Coach

Jim Dinner started Coaching Rugby at Streetsville Secondary March 2011. Represented ROPSSAA at OFSAA 2012, 2013, 2018 and 2019. Convenor for OFSAA Rugby AA Girls, Mississauga in 2015. Started Coaching Mississauga Blues U16 and U18 Girls Teams 2015. Completed Level 1 Coaching Course with World Rugby in 2015. Completed Level 2 Coaching Course with World Rugby. (To be finalized after Covid19). Traveled to The United Kingdom coaching the Mississauga Blues U18 Girls touring side in 2016. Traveled to The United Kingdom coaching the Mississauga Blues U18 Girls touring side in 2018.

 

Malak Aiad: U16 Girls Assistant Coach

Malak Aiad started coaching the U14 and U18 teams in 2020. She is a part of the McMaster women?s rugby team who placed 3rd in the OUA in their 2019 season. Her love for the game started in grade 9 with the Streetsville Secondary School Tigers. She has won ROPSSAA  in 2018 and 2019 and participated these years in OFSAA while representing Streetsville Secondary. She also had the opportunity to play provincially for the U18 girls team representing Ontario West. Malak has been a part of the Blues family since 2016, where she got the opportunity to travel to the United Kingdom and play against international teams.

 

Teodora Velickovska: U16 Girls Assistant Coach

Teodora started her coaching career in 2019 with the U18 girls while they trained for their 2020 United Kingdom tour and has helped with their training in the summer of 2020. Her passion for rugby started back in grade 9 when she decided to branch out from the numerous other sports she played. In the 2018-2019, she played for Rogues Rugby and won bronze at the New York 7?s tournament. She won ROPSSAA in 2018 and 2019 and participated in OFSAA for those years, representing Streetsville Secondary. In the 2020-2021 year, she was given the opportunity to represent the Mississauga Blues through Rugby Ontario as their Community Rugby intern.


 

Livia Gubco (U14 and U12)

Livia has been part of our coaching staff for the past 5-6 years. From starting out with the U8s and U10s, she eventually moved up to the U14s where she has been the head coach for the past 3 years. She had the opportunity to play provincially when she was 16 and gain more experience and learn more about rugby. Playing provincial also allowed her to learn about other coaching styles. On top of this she began referring and also obtained her coaching certification through Rugby Ontario. Last summer she worked for Rugby Ontario as a Community Rugby intern which allowed her to share the beautiful sport of rugby in elementary and middle schools in Mississauga. Further, she has been playing on the Brock Varsity women?s rugby team for the past 3 seasons. Unfortunately due to COVID her season was cancelled but she?s looking forward to the summer season and training again soon with her Brock team and the senior women?s team here at Mississauga Blues bringing home some more wins and adding some more Man of the Matches to her name.
